"This is my 1:1 yogurt 'bagel' recipe made into savory cheese bread biscuits. My husband was so amazed that this makes bread at all! It’s so easy, you can make it with your kids! This can be made with any flour. (If your GF flour doesn’t have a binder, you might want to add ½ tsp of xanthan gum.)"

Easy Savory Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour (like King Arthur Gluten-Free Bread Flour)

  • 1 cup thick Greek yogurt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 2 tsp Savory

  • ¼ tsp Andante Mustard Powder

  • ¼ cup shredded cheese, or to taste

  • *Optional pinch of salt

  • *Optional ½ diced jalapeño pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 °F.

  2. In a bowl, mix together 1 teaspoon of baking powder with 1 cup of King Arthur GF bread flour and 1 cup yogurt.

  3. Add savory and mustard, and, if you like, a pinch of salt.

  4. Fold in your shredded cheese (and any diced peppers for heat).

  5. Sprinkle a little extra flour to pour your dough onto, cut it into 4 balls, move to a baking pan, and squish them down to your desired thickness and bake for 20 minutes. (To make “bagels,” customize the 1:1 recipe and let your kids put their finger in the middle — you’ll be amazed how great they turn out.)
